The ability to customize metrics, reports and dashboards tailored to our specific use-cases has empowered product and engineering leaders to make data-driven decisions regarding resource allocation, cycle time and time to delivery. Support from the Faros team has also been exceptional!

The ability to pull and normalize data from many sources easily, either with their prebuilt connectors or custom-built ones, is a key differentiator. The flexibility to mix data across sources into trend metrics has helped us keep track of development goals both at an individual scrum team level and more generally across the entire engineering organization for senior leaders. The Faros team provides good insight and guidance when building new metrics, especially when helping us solve specific, challenging questions.
Nothing I dislike at this time. It would be great to simplify the setup of automated alert notifications and subscription options for dashboards (email/slack etc.) to enhance user engagement.
It takes time to learn the tool
The product has a steep learning curve for non-data analysts, especially when moving beyond built-in dashboards. It can be time-consuming to keep data synced correctly when using non-standard or imperfect data sources (for example, keeping team rosters updated).

Faros Creates Meaningful Metrics from Disparate Engineering Data
Faros integrates with the majority of the systems used by engineering, and quickly links data across disparate systems into meaningful graphs. Their out-of-the-box metrics and dashboards are helpful starting points, but really good insights happen with customization. The flexibility of the service is its true selling point, allowing us to adapt reporting to several existing processes rather than forcing teams to change their processes. The learning curve is a bit challenging, however.
