It just covers everything we use in our team without me having to think about it. Since our entire world is in sharepoint, from our docs to our product plans and even HR files, it is such a relief to know there is a solid backup happening in the background. The integration is just so smooth because it is all part of the same Microsoft package so everything just talks to each other perfectly. The local backup part is also a huge win for me personally. I keep a lot of my automation notes and Java snippets on my local machine and having them backed up automatically means I don't have to worry about losing mu work if my machine has a hardware failure. I love how I can just sign in on a different machine and all my files are just there waiting for me. It is just a very seamless experience that makes my daily work as a tester much less stressful.
Native integration with Microsoft 365: The biggest strength is its seamless integration with Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams since it is built into the Microsoft ecosystem, there is no need for 3rd party tools or complex setup. Automated and reliable backup: Once policies are configured, backups run automatically and consistently in the background. This reduces manual effort and ensures data is always protected without constant monitoring. Strong security and compliance support: Built-in role access control and alignment with Microsoft security and compliance standards make it suitable for organizations with governance and regulatory requirements.
The tight integration with MS 365 and Azure. Backup policies are straightforward to configure, and recovery options are clear and granular, allowing restores at the file, mailbox or site level. The interface is familiar and intuitive for administrators already working with MS tools, which reduces the learning curve. Automation and retention policies also help ensure compliance and data protection without constant manual oversight.
Honestly, I don't see anything that actually gets my dislike. But one thing to call out here is, sometimes it can slow down my machine when the local backup is syncing. As someone who runs a lot of heavy api tests in java, I need my system resources to be available all the time but the 365 backup sometimes decides to hog all the upload bandwidth and CPU right when I am in the middle of the run.
While Microsoft 365 backup is reliable and well integrated, there are a few areas that could be improved Cost visibility can be a challenge as pricing and storage uses are not always easy to track at a granular level.
The main downside is limited advances recovery and reporting features compared to some third-party backup solutions. While basic restore functionality works well, more complex scenarios such advance search recovery or detail reporting, can feel restrictive.

Restoration Features In Microsoft 365 Provide Significant Relief For SharePoint Teams
This has been really important to us because literally everything we do sits in MS SharePoint. From our documentation to the Dev notes and even all the HR stuff, it is all backed up through the Microsoft 365 system. It's pretty nice knowing that if someone accidentally deletes a whole folder of test cases from SharePoint, we can actually get it back without panicking. For our local backup, it is also quite handy as it syncs up our personal files so I don't have to worry about my remote machine crashing and losing my local automation scripts or my notes. There was a time last year when one of our freshers accidentally overwrote a bunch of documents in sharepoint that had our main product info and team details. Since Microsoft backup has that point in time restoration we were able to roll back just those specific files s to how they were two hours earlier. It was a huge relief because redoing all that would have taken days. I also use it for my local desktop and document folders, so when I have to swap out my mechanical keyboard setup and restart my machine, I know all my latest java snippets are already safe in the cloud. Also, I haven't seen any major security red flags like I did with the other tools. Since it is all part of the Microsoft Ecosystem it feels pretty seamless. I just log in with my company creds and it works. - It TrainerGov't/PS/EdEducationReview Source
