On occasion, I've found that the apps that are publicly available in the App Catalog don't work, but I don't know this until after I contact the app's support and they tell me to just use the custom integration method. It seems rather pointless then to have a pre-built app integration in the app catalog if the developer of said app says not to use it. It's difficult to get all the Shadow IT apps accounted for in Okta. People will sign up for any app under the sun and only tell IT that they need Okta SSO after they've been using it for a while. It makes standardization difficult if you don't know about all the apps up front.

I know it's for security's sake, but I needed IT's help, not realizing how in-depth setting up from scratch would be again.
