The fact that we don't need to predict our tracking needs. We don't need engineering input, code tagging and releases to start tracking a usage of the feature. Guides and advanced reporting, funnels, NPS surveys are also really useful
I appreciate Pendo's ability to combine the in-app notifications that our organization heavily relied on, and it's use of analytics to create visibility into how our users engaged with features and notifications in app.
1. Pendo provides powerful in-app guides that help teams onboard and educate users without any coding. 2. Built-in feedback tools like polls and NPS make it easy to collect user opinions directly inside the app. 3. Rich product analysis that Pendo offers shows us exactly how users navigate, what they user and where they drop off.
The Pendo overlay for creating guides is sometimes a little buggy, but closing it and refreshing the page before opening it again helps. There is a learning curve to building useful and good looking guides in Pendo. The automated CSS selection for tagging is helpful, but in many cases it is connected to something that doesn't uniquely identify the item. CSS knowledge is a must have to use it acordingly. We have an unfrotunate requirement from our customers regarding data residency. We need to use a US and EU versions of Pendo for our corresponding US and EU platforms. I didn't find a way to easily copy settings from one Pendo to the other. What is the Pendo strenght - that you tag and configure features in Pendo and not in code is it's weakness here. It forces us to click through things twice. I'm really worried about desynchronization and drift of the 2 Pendo instances.
I found the process for audience management and cohort segmentation slightly unintuitive. It would be difficult at times to validate whether guides were displayed to the correct users, which could potentially slow down deployment,
1. It becomes a bit expensive as the usage grows, especially for larger teams or whenever there is higher traffic. 2. No-code guide has limited customization making it a bit complex to build. 3. Analytics data doesn't update instantly, so teams sometimes experience delays before new events.
