For very practical automations like automating emails and compliance related things covering complex conditions and routing this platform provides excellent capability. We have also developed an app for recording visitors in our office in this platform where visitor records are captured including their photo and an email notification is being automatically sent to the person to whom the visitor wants to visit. As a tool it is best, the use case can be anything thing.
I like the quickness of being able to add steps without coding much. Configuration of the steps is pretty simple most of the time and they have enabled variables to allow for dynamic parameters, some (though not all) of the time. This is a big time saver.
What I value most is the way Power Automate turns complex, multi-step tasks into predictable, repeatable workflows. Its connectors make it easy to pull data from different systems, generate PDFs and prepare emails without manual intervention. This combination of flexibility and integration capability has been the biggest advantage for our use case.
We have recently started to explore various tools over the Microsoft platform in terms of process management and automation. We have been able to develop the required apps and workflows but are finding difficulty in automatically recording its data in our on-premises database. Most of the time we need to apply automated conditions based on data and authorities defined in on-premises systems, so if there would be an easy mechanism to sync data to & between power automate and our on-premises system it will be great which also helps us to provide real-time analytics through our internal system.
The product development has shifted from platform capabilities for makers to emphasizing costly copilot add-ons and marketing. UI changes have made the product more difficult to use due to more whitespace and less useful information easily accessible on screen, making it harder to see multiple steps of the automation at once. I opt to use the classic experience every time I use Power Automate for that reason, or use it within the PowerApps interface which still has the classic experience by default.
The main limitations are some advanced actions still require workaround or custom expressions which can increase the setup time for more complex flows. Troubleshooting can also feel cumbersome when error messages lack detail. Performance can vary during peak periods, causing occasional delays in processing larger batches. While none of these issues stop the workflow, they do add extra effort.
