As a former consultant, I really like how flexible the configuration is once the core design is set. You can align it with complex business processes without needing constant custom coding. The integrations architecture is also a stand-out feature for us. We have managed to create a seamless flow between our local project databases, Outlook and Teams, which has significantly improved our sales team's disciplines in tracing activities. Finally, the automated upgrade cycle is a huge relief. Knowing that we will get the latest features and security patches without a massive manual project every few months allows us to focus more on business value and less on system maintenance.
Comfortable deployments and easy configuration for code repo access and site to site VPN functionality. IP filtering is easy to apply.
SAP's greatest strength is the integration and reliability of its solutions. Once implemented, the system runs with minimal disruption, and the data flow across modules is seamless. This consistency enables efficient consumer support, operational transparency, and strong governance. I also appreciate SAP's ongoing commitment to innovation and compliance with global standards.
External pricing calls are a real performance bottleneck. When our sales reps are trying to close a deal, any lag in pricing impacts their flow and daily productivity. Also, the UI is quite rigid, you are mostly stuck with predefined themes, which limits the user experience. Lastly, while the SAP Influence portal is a good idea for submitting new feature requests and improvement ideas, it often feels like a black box. We submit requests but get very little feedback on when or if they will ever be implemented.
High licensing costs. Also the support via the SAP portal is not always satisfying.
While dependable, SAP's solutions can be complex to maintain and customize. Configuration often requires specialized technical knowledge, which limits agility for smaller enhancements. Additionally, communication during system upgrades or support escalations could be more proactive and transparent.
