Performance of Vertex O Series Across Market Features
Vertex O Series Likes & Dislikes
I like how accurate the computations are. Provides detailed configuration and very powerful customization.
Vertex O Series handles such computations without any problem while also making sure that the right tax rules are applied to my transactions. The software has been a good fit for me as it interconnects well with my current ERP system reducing on data entry mistakes.
-Accurate tax calculations based on jurisdictional level - Comprehensive reporting features - Simple and efficient UI - Improved SOX and Audit control - Vertex university and annual exchange
I don't like the pricing model.
Vertex charges a percentage of your total revenue, which means that as our business grows, our tax software bill rises as well. This seems wrong because I am not receiving anything more than what has been offered for the price I am paying.
Lack of automation esp in Import/Export processes and monthly reporting areas Absence of direct E-filing options for few countries Search functionality within the portal could be improved

Unpacking the Cost Challenges of Vertex O Series
The tax engine of the Vertex O Series is something that cannot be overlooked; however, the pay as you go price model is not very helpful for planning. For a small enterprise, it may not be such a big deal. But for companies that are growing at a very fast rate, the cost becomes a real problem. - SENIOR DIRECTOR10B+ USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source

Understanding the Revenue-Based Pricing Structure of the Software
While the product performs well, the pricing structure is nonstandard. Their fees are based on overall customer revenue. Thus, the better a customer does, the more they charge. This is despite the fact that the software is not providing any improved capabilities, and the customer is providing all the costs of on-premises services. Additionally, they don't provide a contractual prices for each "Tier" of revenue and refuse to negotiate any changes to the fee structure.
