I appreciate several key features and aspects of Bob that have significantly benefited our organization. The Kudos feature is excellent, allowing us to celebrate viewpoints and acknowledge team members, which is vital for fostering our hybrid organization's culture. The way Bob maps to our organizational policies for holidays and allowances is highly useful, removing ambiguity in processes. I use the platform extensively for one-on-one meetings, documenting every conversation from scheduling to detailed notes. This creates years' worth of notes, invaluable for traceability and ensuring I'm always in context, making team members feel heard. The notes are public and accessible to the employee, providing clear guidance and serving as an audit trail. The confidential area for each person is highly convenient for securely communicating sensitive information like bonus confirmations or salary pay rises. This reduces risk of mistakes associated with other communication methods like email, ensuring privacy. Bob has become a one-stop shop for policies and benefits, centralizing information previously scattered across other platforms. From an administrative standpoint, Bob provides significant power, enabling direct management of staff access (e.g., automatically disabling access upon start date changes) without needing IT intervention, thereby streamlining HR processes. The platform demonstrates strong performance and scalability, reliably handling high user traffic. Its integration capabilities are excellent. We've successfully integrated it with backend services for account management and with Slack for broadcasting Kudos, enhancing its reach and utility.
Easy to navigate in general.
- could be more customizable: while standard reports are available, they are less comprehensive than what competitors offer
My primary frustration lies with the talent module, specifically the performance management and goals aspect. This module is less intuitive and required significant customization on our end. The implementation of OKRs is problematic. We cannot precisely specify target percentages (e.g., 90%); the system either assumes 100% completion or defaults to a true/false status. This prevents us from setting realistic, incremental targets and tracking progress effectively over time. There's a significant lack of seamless cascading of objectives. When objectives are set at an organizational, departmental, team, or individual level, I have to manually sync them to reflect progress upwards. My desired functionality is for individual objective completion to automatically cascade up, providing a consolidated score at higher levels. This current manual process is a considerable struggle. The tool, in this regard, tends to constrain our desired implementation, rather than enabling it, forcing us to adapt our work to fit the platform. A notable missing feature is native 360-degree feedback. My staff have requested this, ideally where the platform could facilitate feedback requests from team members via email and collect responses through a form. One of the decision factors for selecting Bob was the vendor's roadmap, which hinted at future talent sourcing functionality. Unfortunately, this hasn't manifested, meaning we still rely on other application tracking systems instead of leveraging Bob more comprehensively as initially hoped. This unfulfilled promise was a key part of our purchasing decision. The service support has experienced a few issues. The customization capabilities had some limitations or challenges in tailoring the platform fully to our needs.

Customization and Core HR Features Aid Onboarding with Bob But Objectives Management Remains Challenging
My overall experience using HiBob has been quite positive, providing moderately high to reasonably high value to our organization. I use it practically every day, and it has become part of the fabric of the organization, proving very useful as a line manager. While there are areas for improvement, customization has been beneficial. The core HR functionalities were fairly intuitive and straightforward, aiding quick onboarding for new starters. However, the talent module was slightly less intuitive, requiring more effort. Overall, intuitiveness is good, though less for the talent module. Implementation and onboarding were reasonably straightforward, with no major failures. The platform aids operational efficiencies and compliance by streamlining processes and evidencing requirements. Its high usage across the organization signals its value. The product demonstrates strong scalability and performance, with only one brief issue during peak usage. - Data Analyst50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
