We share a lot of our information between the companies and this platform makes it easy from a central view. When we acquire new businesses, the process of giving them their own site is very quick.
While we appreciate the strengths of Omnia, there are a few areas that have been challenging. When we first started building our intranet, the product wasn't fully mature for all our requirements. The platform's flexibility made it possible to achieve what we needed, but it also meant that we had to invest in a significant amount of customization. This added extra cost and complexity in the early stages. However, today most of those customizations have been replaced with OOTB features. Another challenge is that styling can be quite time-consuming, especially when working with more complex layouts. The good news is that Omnia is actively improving this, and recent releases have already made the process smoother by implementing a component library feature.
Not very sophisticated language variation, and it lacks consistency in how different configurations are handled. Surprised that the integration between the intranet module, the ODM and the OPM was so much poorer than we expected.
Its like any other system. The system is never better than what you put in it. You need to have an organisation that shares info, updates content and gives the users a reason to be there.
