Some of the great benefits of using SumTotal within our Organizations are as follows: Such as its user-friendly intuitive interface making it easier for our employees to navigate and engage with the platform reducing the need for extensive training. Again, one of the great strengths of using SumTotal is its customization options which provides us the flexibility to tailor the platform to meet our specific needs. Again, one of the great strengths is the support and resources that have been really invaluable, providing us with timely assistance and guidance during our implementation process.

This helps us stay on top of regulatory requirements which is important in our company Integration with other HR systems. SumTotal connects well with our other talent management tools, giving us a more unified platform for learning and development. While not perfect, SumTotal does provide useful data on course completions, especially compliance required training, but they are time-sensitive. Reports also can identify skill gaps and learning trends that help inform our L&D strategy

While SumTotal by Cornerstone has been a valuable addition to our HR Function, however we seem there could be some areas of improvement as we face occasional technical issues which lead to slow loading time or errors. Again, it's the cost and licensing complexity which makes it challenging to predict and manage costs.
The interface is not user-friendly and feels old. it can be confusing to navigate, making it hard for employees to find courses and materials. While registering for a class is not very responsive. You cannot know whether the system is registered or not. Customization is very restricted. We can change some basic elements, but any advanced adjustments to workflows or features are difficult, which forces us to adapt to the system. The reporting tools are basic and not flexible. Creating custom reports is complicated, and the data is often inaccurate, making it hard to track progress and effectiveness
Training reminder emails can be somewhat infrequent resulting in deadlines not being met by employees Analysis of training data can be lacking due to some information being unable to be pulled from the tool

A Closer Look at SumTotal's Strengths and Weaknesses
The good thing is that it can handle many users and has lots of features for training. It's good to keep track of required compliance training and certifications. The system doesn't crash much, which is nice. But there are problems too. The interface looks old and is hard to use. There are times when I am lost trying to find what I need to do. Making reports is very difficult and the data is not always correct. Another issue is that updates are slow. we ask for new features, but they take a long time to come. Sometimes the updates with new features don't work well. The mobile app is not that great. It's hard to use on phones and tablets. This kind of capability for a learning platform is a must have to be very robust Customer support is not great. They take a long time to answer questions about fixing issues. it can be very frustrating. Overall, SumTotal does the basic job of managing learning, but it could be much better.
