Other than the product itself, which is great, what I like most about Workday is the community. Workday has built a website where all of the Workday customers can collaborate, share best practices, create FAQs, provide videos/training, allow enhancement requests and has a great forum for questions and answers. This really ensures that you are able to properly configure and leverage the full amazing capabilities of the Workday application across all of its modules including Workday HCM, Talent, Recruitment, Onboarding, Reporting, Time/Absence, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation and more.
The user interface has a modern visual design
For me, the most standout feature of Workday Human Capital Management is its format of reporting and insights. Human Resources department can easily generate reports regarding the employees performance, track their promotion and also can see organizational charts without any problems. Second, Workday Human Capital Management has strong security controls. It is very difficult to breach its security and temper or leakage of important information like audit trails and other company related information. Third, you don't need an office desktop to use Workday Human Capital Management. You can access the system on your mobile or laptop while at home.
Workday has been actively purchasing and integrating additional applications into their platform including Sana (UX AI), Paradox (Recruitment AI), HiredScore (Candidate Sourcing AI), Adaptive Planning (Financial Planning), Evisort (Contract AI), and Flowise (AI Agents). Some of these technologies are still being seamlessly integrated into the Workday platform which can cause some challenges initially. But over time that integration keeps getting more and more seamless.
Certain links are made available to the users that do not provide useful information. Unintuitive design leads users to click multiple things in order to find what they are looking for. Booking vacation is more difficult through Workday because it shows the vacation time accrued. Additional maneuvering is required to see the total vacation time for the year. More confusingly, you are able to book and take vacation before accruing the hours, so this design makes it difficult to track how much vacation you have left. There is also no notification to let you know if your vacation has been approved, and there is also a delay in managers getting the vacation request. Workday also do not seem to provide managers with a good consolidated view of vacations for their teams. Rollout was buggy from a user perspective with certain features not working
While using the Workday Human Capital Management system, I find that its interface is very clunky and looks very old fashioned. And sometimes it is very hard to find what you need as there are too many tabs.

The Workday Human Capital Management system is very good for employee performance tracking and reporting but it has clunky interface and has too many tabs that increases difficulty to find what you need

Extraordinary product, evolving company priorities have changed customer satisfaction
Workday has always been great to interact with and partner with. However, they have changed significantly in recent years and no longer have a customer first focus. They have started to take away services only to charge customers for them now at a huge cost. They are also spending and focusing too much time and resources on AI and have yet to deliver anything of value in the AI space. Need to get back to what matters.
